VZ SS 4sp auto wont upshift

Driving home from work turned off the highway went take off smooth change up into 2nd then stuck in gear. was running smooth up till today.

Would the fluid level be a factor..

Yes, most likely. How long since you checked it? Fluid is cheap, repairing/replacing auto trans. VERY expensive.

Hopefully its just low fluid but unlikely unless you have a leak somewhere or was never properly filled.
When the auto went on my old VS super6 it did exactly the same, only had 1st & 2nd gears, the centre part of some shell in the gear box had torn apart.
Apparently this part was modified and strengthened post VS (VT onwards) and also in my rebuild.
But the short story was that it was a full rebuild back in 2002 with only 80K klms on a stock engine.

I would be checking ur fluid level, before driving anywhere!

Fluid level was fine, the hooked up to the scan tool no faults found. looks like the pans coming off and solenoid problems.
