    Default Problems with acceleration

    Just need your thoughts..

Driving around town accelerating sometimes the car loses power, stops accelerating basically, the exhaust gurgles a bit then it gains acceleration normally, it also feels like the car has lost a fair bit of power aswell

My initial thoughts were fuel, plugs, or even a miss..

Could be a bad batch of fuel youve picked up!

When was the last time it was serviced?

it sounds very similar to the problem I was having with my coils.... see if replacing the plugs fixes it, if not they might be something to check.

im having the same problem with my ute.
i have asked 2 mechanics and they dont have an answer for me it is dangerous as the engine just cuts power and idles it usually happens when im overtaking.
i have to turn the engine off and start it again and the problem goes but returns a little later.
i get it serviced about every 2 months the problem just keeps appearing.

some help or ideas would be much appreciated

There was a batch of dodgy coil packs on some of the earlier VZ's. Coils manufactured "04-05-08", "04-05-09", or "04-05-10" (8th - 10th May 2004) are known to fail prematurely and should be replaced. The manufacture date is printed on the coil.
