Adding chrome - help

My exec's getting upgraded with a nice set of 20's soon and I'm getting my black door strips and mirrors colour coded. I want to go a bit further and add some chrome window surrounds and roof moulds...maybe a set of door handles after that depending how it's looking

Problem is I can't find what car the chrome roof moulds came out on...or anywhere to source window moulds besides holden ($800 i don't think so )

Calais, Berlina......

Well if Holden are the only place u can get em, then thats ur only option. You can try a wreckers but those parts usually sell very quickly.

i saw the window surrounds on ebay the other day, run a search for vz calais

Why not go a bit different and get the side strips chromed as well instead of color coded??

if it was done like that it would have to be a perfect chrome job to look good,

personally id get a section of it chromed as the whole strip would look a lil over the top

Ahh yeah, like a thick chrome strip in the middle of it, it would look preety good imo next to all the other chrome bits you want to do.

Nah if i were to do chrome down the side I'd do the calais style there aswell. Problem is I dont want to over do it with the chrome because its still an exec front with the black plastic inserts and look weird looking at it from any angle except the side.


Trying with all my might not blow all my $$$ and do a full calais conversion. lol

Updating from Exec to Calais would be very expensive. It cost me a motza to update from a Series 2 Berlina, and they have many Calais body parts already fitted. To change the appearance of the Exec requires all removable plastics front and rear being replaced, sills, side trims, chrome around windows, lights, wheels....

Calais are reasonably priced these days - you would be better off upgrading and you'd get all the comfort items inside too.
