Default Lpg on vz crewman v6

    Hi there,

rang up several lpg conversion companies, all saying their system is the best, pricing ranging from $3600 - $4700. Global, elko, Sprint, Remano systems is the most common offered. BRC, IMPCO is what Holden uses that was the higher end of the quotes. I will be keeping the car for 10 + years. Does anyone have any recommendations or recommended installers im in the Frankston Victoria area.

    thanks for your help

    Aaron

My dad installs Prins VSI kits... I have it in my VZ and it runs flawlessly. I recommend it.

Did your dad have a V8 ? I was quoted $4200 for the Prins system, asked another company about it and they said it is only worth paying for it if I had a V8 ?

My dad owns a Ford BA MKII XR6 and had the Prins kit installed in his. My Calais is a V6 also and I have the kit in mine. Not sure why they'd say it's only worth it in a V8.

Cost wasn't an issue for me as I got it installed for the cost price of the kit... my dad obviously wasn't going to charge me a day's labour to install it for me. I paid $3,500... that was the cost of the kit before the beginning of this year, prices went up apparently so I was lucky that my dad ordered my kit in late "08 before the price rise.

id say they're referencing the overly fuel hungry nature of the V8 model, so it would be easier to make your money back in savings if you had a petrol hungry V8.

i just bought a VYSS Crewman with a kit installed and it's great!

Forget what everyone has told you and see Anthony at A&M Automotive and LPG Conversions. Tell him that PoweredByCNG sent you. He deals with EuroGas vapour injection and ICOM JTG Liquid Injection.

A&M Automotive auto mechanic wantirna, knox, ringwood, mulgrave, ferntree gully, boronia

He is the best and most honest LPG mechanic in Victoria in my opinion.

Of course they will push their products as being the best but its also the fitting of the kit that has to be considered , cheapest is not always the best , ask to see some of there handy work and ask around , and just cause they say it complies how would the owner know any different .... alot of dodgy workmanship out there alot of faults due to dodgy handy work not the product ????? systems used by the manufacturers can vary very much when it comes in the from of an aftermarket kit might look the same or have the same brand name but just not as is fitted at the factory .....

That's why I'm recommending Anthony at A&M Automotive (who goes by the name of blownba on other forums). He goes out of his way to ensure that his installations are done to a high standard. He's helped me on many occasions and I'm not even one of his customers.

Considering you are in WA i'm not sure you really have a good handle on who is the "best and most honest LPG mechanic in Victoria"

There are many good ones around, also some not so good, but that happens everywhere.

I'm going throught the same dilemma's and have decided that the two best options are the Impco BRC vapour injection (as fitted by holden to the factory dual fuel VZ's) or the JTG liquid injection system.

Personally i'm about to fit the Impco system. Yes, its a little dearer than some but the whole thing has been designed and tuned in conjunction with Holden, the installation comes with plug and play ready made wiring, and the system can be adjusted and repaired at Holden dealers across the country should the need arise.

The liquid injection sounds like the bees knees, but the price is a little off putting, if I was doing more kms it would be more justifiable.

I'm sure there are other good gas systems out there also, but none of them have been designed in conjunction with the vehicle manufacturer like the Impco. To me that can only be a good thing!

    Good luck with it!
