Hi, I am going to replace my water pump this week, and I am wondering if I need to remove my intake manifold to get to the water pump.
Thanxs Wazza
nah just ahve to take the air intake pipe off to gain access to it.. pretty easy job just make sure you use vaseline or rubber grease on the seal so you dont pinch it
I did it today, no didnt need to remove anything, theres more then enough room to get under the air intake pipe.
- empty the coolant, theres a drain plug passenger side bottom of radiator (theres a guide on the forum somewhere on how to change coolant, follow that)
- loosen the 4x bolts on the pulley
- shove a 1/2" extension into the bottom of the tensioner and twist it clockwise to loosen tension on the belt (someone will have instructions on here somewhere)
- remove the belt from the pulley
- unbolt the bolts, remove pulley
- unbolt the bolts holding the pump in
- pull pump out, stand back watch for splashback
- clean off any excess gasket/rubbish
The seal on the Zed is a metal gasket, too easy to match up to the pump and block, even easier to put it on.
- reverse the above steps!
Took me half hour, is quite easy.
Matt, u should make that a sticky!
