    Default Rattling Tailgate

Is the tailgate on the VZ ute supposed to jiggle back and forth when the tonneu cover is off? If not, how do I fix it?

    Thanks

    Tighten up the hinge bolts!
Or maybe there is some wear in one of them, in that case you'll need a new hinge.

the lock might have excentric hole that you can back off the bolts then adjust up the freeplay

Yeah, thats what I was thinking, but when driving at moderate speeds, there is a noticeable rattle of the tailgate

If you loosen the two bolts on either side of the tailgate you will get a small amount of movement......should be enough to stop the rattling at least, I've done it on a vz.....
