Default VY II or VZ Calais? What to buy; what's the difference?

I'm looking to buy a Calais and not sure what model to buy. I'm tossing up between the VY series II and VZ. I've been told that the Berlina's are inferior to the Calais', so not to even bother considering them. True?
But really looking for opinions on VY II or VZ Calais and differing features.
    Thanks.

    Six or eight?
Cause Alloytec V6 and 5 speed auto intro in VZ.
    I'm not afraid.

Definitely go the VZ!! Much more agressive styling on the front end and the headlights and tailights look darker. Yeah if your specifically looking for the calais sort of luxury, the Berlina probably wont do it for you. But is definitely a massive step up from an executive nevertheless.

And they 190 Alloytech in the VZ is probably the most significant difference to the VYII.

I think interior-wise they are both pretty similar... apart from trim colour and bits and pieces.

I say go the VZ!!... but maybe I'm a little biased :P

Apart from looking miles better, the vz gets the alloytech190 and fancy gearbox. Another vote for the VZ from me

definately go for the VZ it's newer, mostlikley to have less k's the 6cyl has 190 kw. improved on the 152 i think VY got..

interior is basically the same in both of them almost no difference at all.

There are various main features which distinguish the VZ Calais from the VY II.

The VZ Calais had leather interior as standard. It was still optional on the VY II.

190 kw Alloytech versus 152 kw or 175kw s/c Ecotec

Five speed auto versus four speed. (A big plus)

Similar but broader spoked and more aggressively styled 17" alloys.

Styling is a personal thing. I prefer the VY II front end and the VZ rear.

The VZ is a better buy if you can get it at the right price.

VZ for sure!! im abit bias but the S/C 175kw isnt too bad to do some work on but definitley VZ. I still liked the VYII when i was looking for one but the VZ took my heart!!! The interior is much nicer on the VZ too although the VYII are dirt cheap nowdays

Thanks for all your posts. You've kind of pursuaded me to go for the VZ I think. lol. Could you possibly tell me some of the features the VZ's got. Thanks heaps.
