This link will answer the majority of your questions including the different models, engine in the calais and SV6, features etc etc

Let me know how you go. Any specific question(s) I can answer as I have a VZ V6 Calais myself. But the general questions you are asking will be answered in the link.

Hi there dr.lumina ,Welcome. I own a vz v6 calais and ihave been told that calais have practically everything that a statesman has , they also have the 190kw alloytec engine and a 5 speed active select auto, upmarket stereo, enhanced stability program or ESP . They have different headlights and tailights . The berlina is not as well equipped it should have traction control, 16x7 inch alloy wheels, leather steering wheel, Rear Park Assist (on sedan), trip computer, Side Impact Airbags (SIAB), 6 disc in-dash CD player, climate control air conditioning, four power windows. I believe it gets the 175kw alloytec with a 4 speed auto. The vz models are starting from the base model ....Executive , Lumina , Equipe, SVZ , Aclaim, SV6, SV8 , SS, Berlina , Calais . Some models were limited production runs such as the Lumina and Equipe. Look hereHolden VZ Commodore / Calais i hope this helps explain it for you

calais has a bit more than the statesman, its more the caprice of the short wheel base cars, berlina is the statesman.

Try using Redbook, you can compare details side by side between the 2 models.
Car Prices - Search Car Prices & Values Online - Red Book
If you could afford it go the Calais.
If you buy the Berlina most likely in the future you will start upgrading bits to calais parts anyway.
