vz fuel smell

i have recently bought a vz equipe and have found that when the aircon is on and i have it on recirculate i get a smell of fuel inside the car.
Has anyone come across this before?

check your fuel cap

When you put your fuel cap on, don't just turn it until the first click. Continue turning it for a couple of revolutions. This is a well know problem.

has the car been converted to run on lpg ???

no lpg conversion, I will tighten the fuel cap. i just thought it was strange that it only smells when on recirculate.

thats coz the air in the cabin and boot space is recirculated,picking up the fuel smell from the boot.

dont fill past the fuel flap in the tank line

thanks all for the replies. Turning the cap a full turn solved the problem. I usually i turn the cap for about 3 to 4 clicks but now on ii will do atleast 1 full turn
