I crashed! now paint flaking/peeling.

2006 VZ Acclaim - White

I reversed into something and broke my tail light...which is easy replacement.

My problem is the paint is flaking off in the area under my tail light. Just want to know what I should do to minimize the damage done here (rust etc). I'm new to this but would like to keep my car looking clean and tidy - not necessarily perfect.

Thats just the bumper - which is plastic and wont rust. Small tin of touch up paint would be the best you could do without spending $150 to get it repainted like all nice and new.

looks like its been dodgy re-sprayed before? seems like it has another layer paint under whats peeling off

Looks like the parking sensors were painted white, while in the bumper.

Probably just sprayed over existing paint too, hence why its is cracking so bad.

Usual holden factory paint job on the bumpers stays pretty much intact with small bumps.

Looks just like normal paint stress factures. The bumper will flex when you hit something stretching the surface area. Paint doesn't flex.
