Default broken volume button on steering wheel

    hey guys,
I have just broken the volume button, on the steering wheel (VZ ss) is there anyway we can fix it our selves, or is it better off to take it to someone...the volume still works it is the actual button that has broken off, also is it costly to replace??? any suggestions would be great....thanks

You have a few options. Phreddy in Sydney is able to use hot glue to temporarily fix the button but it is not a 100% fix. The best way is to buy another steering wheel button cluster which is $100 from Holden and get it fitted. Make sure you get the right one if you have the gear change paddles there is a extra set of wires coming off the harness for the lights ect in the paddles.

Kimbo, i had the same problem got a new set from wreckers $90.oo , fitted it myself using a thread on here , although if you look around you may find a brand new set in black for a round $ 30.oo ,only thing youve got to do when fitting it is make sure you disconnect battery , pull fuse for airbag drain any residual power pop airbag off from behind steering wheel with small flat head screwdriver dissconnect wires remove airbag, place face up away from you, undo screws on steering wheel for spokes so you can feed wires for new assembly screw it back up , plug in wires pop airbag back on, reconnect battery , srs airbag light will come on as per normal then go out, then just sit back boost your radio to max using your new audio controls , hope this helps

omg i always though coolant was part of a service, its not expensive they should just do it!! if i had to pay $360 for tyres i'd have a heart attack lol, we got tyres at xmas last year for $195ea but my hubby new the owner thank god!! we just had to replace some computer on our car and it ended up nearly costing us $900 woohoo for our tax chq's lol, i'm just glad i'm not spending lots of $$$ on a shitheap of a car hehe...

Hey I had this problem too!
I'm a newbie to cars so I told Holden about it when I sent it in for service, and they charged me $250 for it, saying they couldn't just replace one button, but had to replace the whole thing.

    F!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
