Well i don't really drive my car hard but in the last few months my VCM tuned SV6 has been running like a pig. It just had its 90k service so the fuel filter, oil filter/ Airfilter, oil in motor and gearbox is fresh. Any ideas what could be causing this?? When i first got it tuned it would have slight wheelspin if i hit it from a standing start, now it just feels sluggish.
If you floor it from a standing start, does it feel like the car takes ages to max out in first gear?
Also, put the car in third gear doing around 30km/h and give it 100% throttle. Does the car feel jerky in acceleration?
Still learning about the VZ's but the car possibly has gone into a limp mode due to a fault being reported? Also there's 2 tune maps the car can switch between, if it's detected too many knocks/pings/detonation in the cylinders then it might be running on the "detuned" map.
Problem with a VCM tune is you don't know what they've played with, heopfully they haven't turned off any ECU error/fault warnings.
The Blue One
yeah thats's a shame, holden seem to have let the standard decline.
Go the evo mate, sooooo fricken awesome and mitsubishi's are ROCK SOLID cars throughout with near industructable transmissions.

I have a Vz Storm and mines just started to do the same thing..and i'm at 112, k's..It seemed to be eating just your normal fuel, so i changed it to premium and the engine is running so much better..when i brought the ute, the guy i got it from said he put a whole new exhaust system on it including extractors..it sounded good when i first got it about 7 months ago, now the exhaust sounds like arse..would my guess in saying the exhaust on my ute could be to big for it and to free flowing which could make it loose the back pressure?
yeah guys, ive lost some power, maybe 10 to 15 %. Also it seems that from time to time she has been lunging. what I mean is that I can feel one cylinder cutting in and out or something, only there's no strange Exhaust note or strange vibration from the engine.
The idle is only ever so slightly rough, but not enough to worry about. It also seems to be a little better when cold, but once warms up it loses power. Any Advice?
When it comes to testing the coils. Ill have to have the Upper intake taken off anyway true? so the costs of that, then getting coils tested, then re assembly. I may as well just get the set, take the upper intake off my self, replace plugs too while I am there (even though I did the plugs only 3000k ago) and change all the coils yeah? Man. I love my car, but its starting to give me Shoots a little bit. :-S
if the plugs were changed properly, a metal gasket should have been installed. so the intake manifold should be able to be taken on and off multiple times. i wouldnt bother replacing the spark plugs if you only just did it, just replace all the coils if they are at fault.
maybe the Cats are a bit blocked up?
