pretty sure the base model, S pack and SS utes all have the same headlights.
The only change occurs between the VY-VZ models.
But if you do wanna change your headlights, look up VZ maloo/clubsport headlights on Ebay, usually retail for about 400-500. they look mint. Ya should be fine otherwise.
Why do you wanna go SS front? just to get your mind wandering :P look up SSX front on google, or on SVE (Specialized Vehicle Enhancements) website. or alternatively get the maloo/clubsport front. much more aggressive look

You will not have to change a thing.
However you will need to change your
driving style to allow for the lower SS bar.
It's very easy to scrape the bottom!
    I'm not afraid.

The person you spoke tp is probably thinking of VY SS lights which have the extra bit for the parker. VZ SS bar with your lights would be fine (but, SS lights look better, so you should get them to match the bar)

Either your panel beater is confused or simply doesn't want to help you out. As everyone else said the shape is exactly the same only the internal parts are different.
