they are mounted on the diff.. not at the wheels.

There is traction on front, sensors go in behind the rotors the rotors have teath

The traction control setup works with hall effect sensors.

traction control is worked out by the speed sensor pick ups off the wheels alongside abs,

you disconnect those, you dash will be lit up like a christmas tree

are all your tires the same size??

    odd size tire/rims play havoc...

yeh they are, i have had the car for 12 months and havent changed a thing but now every now and then i get a ESP fail and im not doing anything stupid around corners or anything just straight line.

thought i would try cleaning the sensors before taking it to the evil holden service centre where they will just tell me that i was going to hard around a corner

well the only thing really special with esp is lateral g force sensor, other than that it mainly uses the abs sensor for wheel spin and speeds etc

so am i still doing the right thing by checking the abs sensors for grim which would casue the esp fault or is it likely that one of the sensors needs to be replaced

There should also be a steering wheel angle sensor
    for the ESP.
    I'm not afraid.
