    Default Cleaning injectors

Apart from removing the injectors or putting a bottle of injector clean in the tank anyone got any hints, tricks or techniques to get their injectors super duper clean?

Yes I know that works, but as my OP says I would like to avoid removing them. Ive heard a splash of acetone may work.

filter kits for the injectors are cheap on ebay rip the old ones out the injectors run some toluene based carby cleaner through the injectors to clean the crud out best way is with the injectors out fill them with toluene pulse them a couple of times with a square 9V battery then refill and let sock for an hour then reinstall the new filters and slap them back in the toluene is nasty shit it eats just about anything known to man and works great at cleaning injectors

Put a few tanks of Premium Unleaded through it. Fuel is cleaner and burns cleaner. Well known way of removing gunk from injectors, fuel system, valves etc. Cheaper than buying bottles of additive.

Bottles of injector cleaner or whatever they call it is shite. It's way too dilute to do anything for your fuel injectors. Don't waste your money.

Carby cleaner is great stuff, but will give you cancer. Toluene is a high risk carcinogen. Use at your own peril, or make sure you wear gloves and mask etc. Mind you, petrol also has benzene and toluene. Be very, very careful.

I would not recommend using a 9V battery on your fuel injectors. Firstly, your injectors work off a 5V signal, and that signal only lasts for 2 or 3 milliseconds (hundredths of a second) for each pulse. By holding such a large voltage on the terminals for longer perioods than this you will damage your injectors internally by melting the fine coil windings inside and they may never work as well again. You may also cause a fire on your test bench from the arcing wire connections.

actually injectors run off 12v and can handle being held open for long periods no worries with a 9v battery

Another way that doesnt involve removing injectors is to run an on board injection cleaner, basically you cut off the fuel supply and run it on this cleaning solution, it cleans your fuel rail and injectors.

We charge i think 50 bucks and unless your injectors are rooted, they come up good as new!
