Around town normally get 11-13l/100km & thats with abit of a heavy foot.
If i do alot of short trips it can go as high as 14.5l/100km
On the hwy normally sits around 7.5l/100km its been down to 7.2l.

When was the last time it had a service?

That it very high for an exec, highest my dads vz exec wagon has got is around 14l 7 thats with alot of tools in the back.

you can play around with the figures by reading the manual and setting the appropriate data.

the best way to check fuel consumption is to fill the tank, drive for 300-400 kms then refill.

a quick calculation will give you accurate figures, then you can set the computer to suit.

man you guys are rocking mine can go up to 17.8??
is it maybe a bug or something because i reset the trip when i filled it up full... i did about 280-300km when it got to half way..so i think the reading is incorrect :S

Potentially, I mean 280-300 for a half tank looks good, so I'd say perhaps something wrong with the computer readings

depends which models you compare........ as their tunes are very different...... eg. 05 vz exec is alot more ...... well it's alot 'slower' -no low end torque more top end- in general......... but the air/fuel was alot more level (less knocking) = better fuel economy then say a 2006 model VZ Exec -more low end torque less top end- (May06 Models onwards) which are the Euro3? complatiant. Alot faster, bit toey........ knocks more, uses more fuel.

05 Execs should get 6-8 highway, 10-12 avg max around town (14's with foot down). Avg 10.5 say....
06 Exec's get around high 7's, low 8's highway. 11-14 in town ....... Avg I recon is bout 11.91 for most?

This is worked out not via the trip computer but............. upon fill up. How far you've gone km's wise vs how much you just put in the car.

my vz ss 5.7 manual normally loiters around 11L - 12.5L average consumption.

within about 20 kms on a highway i can drop it to about 10.2L.

My brother 06 VZ Berlina wagon averages over 14L in same area as me!!

Dammit, I was feeling so proud that the VN averaged 7.9L/100km the other day for the first time, after a 25km trip up through the windy hilly highway to home. You ruined my illusion even a manual trans wouldn't get me to 4.5

When I sold the VZ SV6, with 130,000km on it, it had averaged 10.2L over its life running standard ULP and a mix of city & country driving. Long trips were the best where I managed in the 8's

My ute used to do around 13 per 100 but that was usually carrying a fair bit of crap in the back.

Well my SV6 was running like a pig so i went for a run to Bateman's bay on the weekend. I ended up getting 8.5L/100km with an average speed of 80km/h (the princes highway has heaps of 60 and 80 zones) The first part on the main highway at 110km/h it was sitting on 7.1L/100 which i though was great. I did 750 km's all up and still had a fair amount of fuel left when i got back to Sydney. The best thinbg is the car is now running great again

Over my 135,000km in the VZ SV6 I averaged 10.2 L/100km. City driving saw the usage around the mid 12's, and a long trip dropped it into the 8's, but overall it was almost spot on 10.2

Edit: Oops - just realised I replied a while ago with the figures lol
