Hi,
I have been searching the internet and this forum. Last posting on a repair manual for the VZ Commodore was in 2006 in this forum that I can find.
I noticed that a ebay seller has a repair manual for $50. But I would prefer to look at the manual before purchasing to ensure it has what I need.
Does anyone know of other suppliers ?
A electronic, searchable CD or DVD would be fantastic if it was available.
Thanks,
Andrew Mac
PS. The aim is to service and complete simple repairs on a 2005 VZ Commodore wagon, automatic. I am not interested in computer chip upgrades, etc. Anything really complicated the car will go a motor mechanic. Thanks.
search is your friend. Its not even been 24hrs since i saw a thread where they were giving them away.
As far as I know no one has yet produced a printed workshop manual for the VZ. Holden do have a comprehensive workshop manual on CD that can be purchased (costs several hundred dollars). The one you saw on Ebay, make sure you read just what it is for. I have seen some advertised for the FUEL SYSTEM only. 'Caveat Emptor'
Just saw the Haynes Manual VT to VZII (pitstop code 14995) at Home Page for $61.95

I can understand how they carry the VT over through VY2 as they were pretty much the same mechanically, but to include the VZ in that manual and only give brief information defies logic. With a completely new V6 engine (in 2 versions), new V8 on later VZ's and new additional five speed auto and 6 speed manuals, how can they not go into detail?
If you had a VZ and bought that manual, you got ripped. I find my Haynes for the VY is sadly deficient in every way.
It aint that bad. There is a dedicated Alloytec engine section.
Notwithstanding, it is too generic sometimes. As a result of little use.
Oh, and it dosen't even reference the Allotec 190.
I'm not afraid.
Now u tell me, Calabar lol.
Im currently in the process of trying to obtain the VZ service manual on CD.
Yeah its just a few bits n pieces it covers, the only eng in the vz range it covers is the 175. I just use it if im stuck on a particular section.
