    Default VZ SS alarm

    Hi..

when i lock the car, there's like 4 loud beeps (as if to say the alarm is activated) it's ****ing loud and ****ing annoying, can it be turned off? and is this normal or is something not closed properly?

It didn't use to do it in the ute (which also had a factory alarm)..

    thanks

check your doors, boot and bonnet.

it sounds like one of them isn't shut properly.

you can set it up to sound the horn when you lock and unlock the car but it will on beep once or twice depending on what your doing.

Yeah 4 beeps is the door ajar warning. Either something isn't closed or one of the sensor switches is bung.

as danja said, something is wrong with one of your sensor if everything is closed properly

thanks guys ill get it looked at..

could it be anything to do with an aftermarket bonnet? It's got a monaro bonnet on it, dunno if anything would be different, if it's not contacting properly?

There is a switch next to the bonnet release catch which senses if the hood is opened. Possibly your new bonnet isn't pushing it all the way down, or the switch got disconnected when it was installed. Easy to find out, pop the hood and press the switch all the way down with your finger while you lock the car.

Have you checked the wiring to see if it's not something silly like they just haven't plugged the switch back in?

Are all door lock actuators locking (moving into lock)
    when you lock the car?
    I'm not afraid.

i needed to do both front doors,i was lucky to get a second hand pair for $25 postage included.
you could also set the door lock settings to just unlock the drivers door till you get it fixed.
