my thermo fan wont cut in when the motor starts getting hot.
Ive connected the fan to direct power and it works.
all fuses are fine what could the problem be
they only cut in when it starts to get pretty darn hot. i haven't really monitored it......... but i think it's around 130'c at engine temp

Turn your air conditioner (if you have one) on and that should automatically start the fan(s). Another easy way to check if working.
only one works with the aircon, but the fan does work with direct power,is the fan controlled by then bcm
I reckon it might be your relay mate. Pop a new one in.
only one will kick in, even with AC on.
When it gets REALLY FKN hot then the second kicks in as well to give the engine one heck of a blast of cool air. I cant remember the temp ranges but 108 sound about right for the first one to kick in.
Ive noticed mine takes a thrashing before it'll kick in. Unless ive been driving it just wont kick in at idle, say parked in the driveway, either that or I dont have the patience to wait for it too. But if you drive it and get heat into the engine you'll hear it kick in or not, the guage goes up a bit before it kicks in then watch it fall.
thanx guys found one problem the radiator cap was broken.
where does your temp guage sit at while driving
Put you dash display into diagnostic mode.
Scroll till you come to the coolant temp.
Go for a drive.
My temp sits in the low 90's while driving. Just above quarter on guage.
You will be able to find out by watching the temp readout while
idling at what temp the fan starts.
I'm not afraid.

all fixed had to get the computer reset
I replaced my cap the other week. The system never got pressurised. As sson as I replaced the cap, the water pump leaked. I hope that dosent happen to you.
And the radiator caps are b*tch on the VZ. Any time you have an overheating problem, more than likely its the cap.
Hi all i also have this problem how do i go about reseting my computer? neither of my fans turn on even when the aircond is turn on
