You want a thicker rear sway bar if you want to reduce understeer. Fatter sway bar on the front will increase understeer.

I had a 30mm adjustable bar on my VT back in the day, it was great. The stock SS setup is good enough for me not to bother on my VZ, but it's still tempting.

I've got 2 Whiteline SwayBars in my garage waiting to be installed in my SV6. (30mm Adj Fr && 18mm Adj R)

I'll hopefully have them installed by the new year...I'll let you know how they go..

^^^I'd love to hear the outcome of this.

    Isn't there a 20mm for the rear?

Just FYI, the stock VZ sedan swaybars are 25/12mm front/rear for FE1, and 26/13mm for FE2.

So already with a rear 18mm you're talking about 40/50% increase, at 20mm thats 50/65%.

IMO commodores are always prone to understeer due to their heavier front end and steering geometry. Two main things that combat this are lowering on good quality shocks n springs along with a sway bar upgrade (front n rear) and adjustable urethane castor rod bushes. More castor, lower roll centre and improved bushes get these things handling like they're on rails

Depends on the balance, but the more you stiffen the front, the more understeer you'll get, and the more you stiffen the rear, the more oversteer you'll get.

If you up both in proportion, you'll get the same balance, but less body sway. Too much though and the car will get skittish.

I 100% agree with you about castor. For me, castor is King, and far more important than camber... but having said that, Commodores stock already have an enormous amount of castor, and the castor bush kits won't add a material amount of extra castor, so generally dialing understeer out of a Commodore usually has to come from other areas. Bu yep, you can never have too much castor... if you do you just dial back static camber and get better braking!

Adding 1.5 degrees on my Zed fixed the overly
    sensitive steering feel. Somewhat.
    I'm not afraid.
