    Default VZ Door locking Problems

Hey everyone Im new and been checking out this forum which has heeps of good info, but on my first post I need to ask some questions.
Today is also the day I picked up my vz ute but I cant get it to lock, when I press the lock button on the key it starts beeping and wont lock, but the doors and bonnet are shut properly etc. Has anyone had this problem or know what its doing?

Im not very familiar to cars with alarms and those sorts of electronics and I feel like an idiot having to ask this sort of question but what do I do?

If you purchased it from a car yard, take it back and have it repaired under warranty. You do have a warranty don't you ?

had the same issue on my sedan intermittently, its the door lock actuators

(all would lock except front passenger, which caused the alarm to honk a few times whenever i lock it)

check both sides lock, if one doesnt, get in the other side and manually lock it, then get out, shut the door and press lock. might be a work around until you can pull the trim off and clean the actuator terminals or whatvr

mine came good before i bothered doing that last step.

thanks for the quick replies I tried locking the passenger door then locking it as you said but it still honked?

I dont know if its what did it but early in the day I accidentally tried locking it with the spare key in the ignition and it honked then would that have set some thing in the computer? because i can manually lock the doors with the key but the central locking does the beeping thing

    Yep!
Had the same issue with mine when 40K on the clock
could only manually lock by pushin' button or use key
    Holden replaced both actuators
    never had a problem since

Don't know much about the Ute's, but would a hard-top at the back not closed properly cause the alarm to go off? On my mate's Hilux the alarm goes off if his hardtop isn't closed properly.

I think your problem is more than likely a broken wire in the wiring loom that goes to the driver's side door. Check the loom at the door hinge.

mm broken wire in a vz thats only a few years old is unlikely. if the door is not closed properly or the bonnet open the horn will sound if you use the remote to lock it. The reason why is the door lock is faulty and keeps an earth present on the door sw wire. this wire as well as the 5 wire loom from the door lock actuators are linked through the body control module.

hey guys.. i had this problem.. after researching it i figured one of my door locking mech's (solenoid) wasn't working. i took my door apart and replaced it and it started working. just check you central locking by putting in the key locking it and checking the doors if there locked..
