Replacing VZ HVAC (air con) controls

Hi all!

Just about to attempt to replace the centre console in my SV8 to the black/silver combo and have just purchased the new heater/air con cntrols and they look a bit complicated at the rear, not the simple plug and go I was expecting!

Has anyone replaced one of these units before? Can you let me know any tricks or problems I need to look out for before I screw up the whole lot!!
