Default "Fuel Gauge" Error just appeared.

Hi all , have a 06 VZ executive auto wagon with just 60,000 km on the clock. It has started to show a fuel gauge error on the display and the fuel gauge is showing empty even when it is full. It has always been consistently inaccurate with 15 litres remaining when the fuel warning thingy flashes. It says contact dealer.
The car is still driving ok. Will it cause a problem or can it wait until it is a bit more convenient?
    Thanks

Well the fact that its saying contact dealer, means it needs to be dealt with straight away.

Also ur low fuel warning is supposed to come on when there are only 15 ltrs left, thats ur reserve amount.

So the Low Fuel Warning kicks in at 15, and the very low at 5?

Also, it is a common VT-VZ fuel gauge error. You need to have the dealer re-calibrate the fuel tank and also check the fuel injectors. I had mine done under warranty a couple years, and although I still trust my math over the needle, it doesnt fluctuate anymore.
I can still do about 25km when it says 0km to empty though lol

takes aloooooot to run out of fuel.

Yeh the issue sounds like its with your level sender in the tank. Only way is to have it checked out properly, theres no simple stupid solution to this one

That's a bloody lot of fuel for the warning light to kick in!
Everytime I hit very low fuel, I check the system modes and it always says 5 or less L remaining.
Theoretically then, you should be able to drive 150-180km once the very low fuel light comes on, according to the above numbers...
