Hi, just fitted up a holden towbar to my 07 crewman,
everything lined up perfectly all threads were in the body already and all holes were drilled,
had to drop the rear muffler to fit it but thats o.k.
My question is before l tackle the wiring for the plug , since the wiring loom is not visable
(without removing the rear bumber) Do l have to cut in & splice into the origonal wiring?or would there be a plug behind the bumper that l can axcess?
ive removed the inner metal panel for a look ,the one that gains axcess to the rear lights
l could cut into that and join the wiring up there but thought some one here might have the blurb on this ...???????
Thanks.....
I suggest that you don't cut any wires but use snap connectors. They are readily available from any auto parts store. Enable cables to be connected to another without cutting any wires etc. That's all most tow bar installers use when fitting trailer plugs. You only need to gain access to one of the tail lights and all connections are made there. If you don't feel competent, go see an auto electrician to be on the safe side.
o.k. good stuff, l can do the snap connector thing no probs..
thanks for your reply.....
do you have any pics of the fitting of the towbar as i have a vu/vz/vy ute genuine holden towbar but cant see how it should fit on my crewy, it has 2 bolts and fitting plate on the left and 3 and fitting plate on the right, thanks rich
Let me know what you blokes need. My VZ Crewman has a towbar (assume the wiring is ok) and am happy to take pics of fittings and wiring if it helps.
Cheers, Paul.
