Hey guys,

I got a VZ Acclaim 05. Done around 1,07,000kms. One fine day i started the car in the morning to leave for work, and experienced that the car was missing real badly. It was almost as if the engine is gona come apart. I reconed the spark plugs cud have given up on me. So i went to the mechanic and got all 6 plugs replaced, Once the guy replaced them and then when i started the car, it still didnt solve the issue.

Then the guy started to unplug the wires from the coils to see if any coil is damaged. It happend to be one of the coils which was missing and when he plugged back the wire into that coil the missing problem stopped. I dont remember i guess that was coil number 2.

Anyway, since then the car hasnt been missing. Now im really not sure whether that coil just had a hick up or was it a bad fuel prob or whether this is just a temporary fix and tht eventually ill need to replace that coil.

My question to u guys is, if supposing a coil damages, will the car keep missing untill its replaced or will this problem reoccur and its occasional. And one more thing. Is it better to remove the negative terminal of the battery and allow it to reset the computer after a spark plug change ?
