Looking at doing my first service on an alloytech its due for its 120k service, what should i buy other than the obvious oil filter, oil and sump plug
You dont need a sump plug, there re-usable! just give it a clean before u put it back in.
Most likely you'll need, coolant, brake fluid, spark plugs these need chaning at 120000.
Check in ur service interval book under 120,000k Service. This tells u what needs doing, therefore you can determine what u need.

ask Holden if they have a spare SPW kicking round, everytime I service an alloytec I ask them and the local boys always have a spare rubber washer there. Its just me, I prefer to change them.
Doesnt hurt to ask! Not the end of the world if they dont because they are designed to be reusable, but if you can score one free then even better
yeah mines due for its 120,000 very soon..was thinking about going down to autobahn and pricing everything up, read the service manual and its oil, filter, air filter, plugs and coolant flush. Was thinking about getting the irridium plugs and maybe a K&N panel filter, anyone think they are either worth it or am i just wasting my dollars?
i have a k&n panel filter. i rekn it made a bit of difference. i also have the two hole mod and once the high flow filter went in, i could feel a difference in the higher revs, holds u to the seat a bit harder![]()
120000k for me is way off
Then again i might do the sparkies at around 70-75000.

oil change completed piece of cake cant believe i used to pay someone $250 to put crap parts and crap oil in my car. I used a K&N oil filter (came with a nice K&N filter casing to replace the original) and i also ordered royal purple oil for my next change (put penrite in this time), checked and cleaned plugs and cleaned my intake manifold while i was at it, might take to the intake side with a die grinder its a little bit messy. Been reading into a cp6 item but i dunno if the cost VS power is worth it

i got 10W 30. I know drag racers that swear by Royal Purple. CP6 is around 3g not including postage i could strap on a bottle of giggle gas for far cheaper and get better results. ill do a little more research i may find small gains from just cleaning up the factory intake
hey mate I don't, I heard off another forum member
Contact Us, Performance Manifolds
or just call Phil Corbet on 0439 793 705.
I was going to, but don't have the funds till after my tax return finally comes through.
you know Holden wants $10 for just a sump bolt washer.
so re-use the original if in good nick or gat a pack of 10 from Veale. and it be cheaper
i got 20Lt of Mobil for the car so oil changes are gonna work out cheaper
