I know there has been stuff about this but..
I have been getting ESP Errors about once a month when driving in a straight line or going around a corner (and before anyone says i am not putting my foot down, im just pulling out of a street)
My more recect problem is that going around a sweeping bend, the ESP thinks that it needs to activate and applies my brakes slightly on my front drivers wheel.
once again AM NOT SPEEDING AND IT IS NOT WET OR ON GRAVEL
anyone know how i can fix this problem
cheers
Id have it scanned to see if any of the sensors are defective.
I find my ESP is a bit sensitive and will sometimes activate around corners. The first time it kicked in was going around Parliament House (Capital circle), it was strange. When I was driving around Tassies twisty roads, it was kicking in quite a bit on hairpin bends. So much that I turn it off because it is too intrusive and my tyres grip like shit to a blanket anyway.
I used to get ESP errors as well and took it to Holden a couple of times and they did some sensor adjustments. I haven't had one in quite some time now but it used to happen randomly, usually when I pulled in to my driveway.
had same problems holden said was a common error not to worry to much about it as it seems to be a common thing with this model
Did they change the sensors or adjust them or did they just fiddle around on the laptop.
Im trying to avoid holden cause they just suck money and dont do anything.
I dont know if it would show an error code if it wasnt happening there and then. Does the computer store errors?
I make sure i turn mine off now to, a little annoying if i forget.
i had holden and carline(mate of mine works there) run the error codes (which are stored) and apparently a common thing
Yep they store the codes and they can check them. Thats what they did with mine. I have no idea exactly what they did though because I dropped it off to them. It was done under warranty.
Im curious, do you have aftermarket wheels on your car or stockies?
Na unfortunately but if i can prove that it is a common fault and it is a safety issue then mabe i can claim that it should have be recalled and they might fix it. If its a known problem and it affects the safety of the car then it should have been recalled to fix the problem, if not and it fails and i die and they know about it then they are liable.
anyway, will ring local guys to see if they have seen the problem, if they have then they can fix if not then they will charge me to plug a laptop in and then "search" for a solution = $$$$
I'm not sure its a safety problem. If it is anything like mine, it will just put the brakes on a wheel to guide it into the corner rather than pull it out of a corner. Doesn't happen very often and it could be argued that I'm taking these corners at a higher speed than the average driver but I'm often nowhere near breaking traction. Its odd but hardly worth worrying about. The ESP error is more annoying. Once when I got the ESP error, I noticed that downshifts were very rough. So rough it was causing wheels to lock. Quite dangerous but it only happened the once and have had Holden check it out since.
Ditto! I have experienced the same problem with the ESP kicking in while driving up some twisty roads and then later have ESP errors on my dash along with beeping!! but i then drove with it turned off.. and then when turned on again.. the errors left me alone. guess that shut her up!!
Happened again today, sweeping bend to the left and about 60km and my ESP applied ABS to the front drivers wheel, is this the correct wheel to bring me into a straight line im not sure.
I have never had the rough shifting that i can remember so maybe its just my sensors, will yank the wheel off and look on the weekend
