Strange metallic noise.

I have a strange metallic noise emitting at various times which is quite annoying.
I can't quite pin point what the noise might be coming from, whether it is something in a mod i have done or it is something more common?

I can hear it at idle, kind of like a loud fast vibrating metallic rattle.
If i drop it into drive it slightly more audible, and when i start to accelerate
it disappears then at about 1400rpm it gives the loudest noise for about 100rpm
then at 1500rpm it is gone again.

My thoughts is it maybe something to do with my exhaust, but the noise really has me baffled.
It is quite an odd noise, i will try and record it and post it up tomorrow to see what you all think it might be.

Could be exhaust heat shield bolts they sometimes come loose and cause a rattle check them out first.

Yeah man, you do. Mine are loose too, you can hear them rattle when you close the door on my car. Something for me to do on the weekend.

yeah mine are loose i turn the air con off and they stop rattling lol, if im at traffic lights it rattles like crazy so i take it out of drive wind the window down and turn off the aircon just to keep me sane (would probably be easier to tighten them, crappy driveway always scrapes these covers neways)
