any one have any suggestions what may be the issue with my SV6?? well here is the problem every now and then reguardless of how you take your foot off the clutch or the amount of accelerator there is a clunk sound and also the "Low Traction" indication come up on the dash screen. now it doesnt do this all the time sometimes it goesa week or 2 without doin it then it will do it a couple time in a row,
any ideas ???
thanks
Mine does the same. I used to have another car that did the same. It's the rear diff, occasionally it will clunk when it startes rolling from first. No mechanics ever suggested it would be a problem....
I just love the way other motorists on the highway think it's an unmarked cop car.........
And Yes, it is a manual
Most cars should do this to some degree, what it is is the gap between the teeth in the gearing in the diff, tailshaft and axles. Ive heard of it more commonly known as diff chatter, It also occurs when you change clutches to a Single mass flywheel.
Life starts at 200km/h
I get the same issue every now n then too mate, nothing to worry about. Mine isnt a clunk its more of a deep swoosh noise (dont know how to describe that).
I do get the occasional clunk when i put it into reverse but mines a manual, its just the gears not lining up correctly when its put into gear.
The Blue One
hmm, my ute never comes up with a 'low traction' alert...mines a 2004 VZ 6 speed manual. or was this only a feature in the SV6's?
And yes, i get the same problem with the clunky gearbox/diff.
Usually only in first and reverse...i can never seem to get the perfect start lol
"And i gave that man directions, even though i didn't even know the way; because thats the kinda guy i am today"
