full intrior mod from vz to vx
hey to all....i am looking at modding a vx sedan with vz iterior...ie,door cards, dash, all wiring seats, lighting(led)of course,and am tempting the thought of a supercharged 6 litre,and was just wordering if anyone has done this before and if it possible,i know if undertake it...it will be a big job and lots of down time for the car but i would love something different and something that is one of a kind.any info will be handy

one of a kind yes, different - yeah not really, only the centre dash is different rest is just colour change and trim change,
if you wanted to do it, youll have to get the whole wiring from the front of the car to the to atleast where the rear body harness connects to the dash harness, even then it would probably be different, youll also need all control modules out of the vz' to work,
so essentially you will need to buy a rear ender from an auction to do it, even then youll be looking at just 10k+ for a 6lt ss with substantial damage, something with light damage will be 15k+ im thinking

Personally i wouldn't do it, as you will have issue changing over certain parts. Remember your going from a older car to a newer car.
Im doing this, i have a VZ SV6 have already changed the interior dash trim to VY SS next on the list is changing the interior roof lining to VZ Calais/SSZ. I know i wont have any issue cause its a strait swap.

you shouldnt have many problems fitting the vz stuff into a vt though, its esentially the same shell just different bolt on's hence you can swap all front ends on anything between vt-vz

yeah was looking at stripping a vz i know where there is one that has been hit very hard in the tail but its all there

like Andy said, with doing a complete change things like senders and modules are different. The instrument cluster is different between VY and VZ (different plug for instance), so imagine VX to VZ ...
We were considering doing this to Kezas wagon now its a VZ Senator Wagon but even just changing the dash over to VZ spec was looking like a big task

as i said, if you have donor car, you will just need to swap dash and loom and it will work,
if you can find one real cheap than why not go for it i spose.... not like i havnt wasted a good chunk of money on my pusser, so i cant exaclty say dont do it for that reason.....

first thing id do is measure the width, had a mate do this to his VR (i know theres probably a world of difference) he actually had to cut the dash up replace the loom... gah the list of things he did was a mile long
