    Default cool fuel

an apprentice mechanic I know told me that if you put exhaust manifold insulating tape on your solid fuel lines and fuel rail it will give you more power.
now i know that the colder all the ingredients are the better the combustion....but im not sure if this is true of he is just talking S%&%.

negligable, of course having some things cooler is better, carbied cars more so cause it prevented the fuel vaporising in the carb, but fuel injected i wouldnt be so concerned about

Colder fuel is better, i know of a guy who setup a fridge type deal so the fuel was cooled before going to the motor, although i'm not sure the power gain outweighed the added weight.

ive heard that painting your engine covers gets you some gains aswell, maybe we can wrap the whole car in insulating tape so it stays cooler!!!

The OPs question is a legitimate one. Not sure why you had to post crap in here (considering its not in the jokes section)

You said you were done with this thread, ie not gunna come back in here...

Either way, this isn't adding to the discussion which is quite a reasonable question

never mind me.. these car forums seem to be filling up with all sorts of crap REALLY quickly! I dont possibly see how insulation tape can cool your fuel down that much between your fuel tank and engine..

Because people want to experiment with ways to get more power? Just because its not a conventional way, doesn't mean you should disregard it
