Hi there, just wondering if anyone knows a way of, or has figured out how to put the satin spokes on to the exectuve wheel which originally has rubber spokes??
Any info would be great thanks.
To my knowledge it can't be done as the rubber spokes are part of the wheel. Best bet is to buy a leather steering wheel, they seem to come up on ebay quite cheap from time to time.
Nope, can't be done - unless you 'butcher' them and glue them on.
just buy a new leather one, im in the process of looking for one now and there are a few available on eBay. 4blok do a fair bit of these in custom colours

apparently it can be done, front what i have heard... will be trying to pull mine apart and do it soon, so will keep you posted.
How so, its one whole molded piece of plastic! You cant physically fit the satin spokes onto the std plastic one's.

hey guys,
Im in the process of doing this mod to my vz acclaim, and i'll tell u now, its a B#$%H of a job and so easy to stuff up. if ur gunna do it just remember cut alittle then do a test fit and repeat. you'll also need something to pack inbetween the steel steering wheel frame and the satin chrome steering wheel spokes, i used weather stripping stuff but almost anything will do and a screw through the back of the steel steering wheel frame will secure it well enough.
Got any pics?

i thinks it would be easier to get new steering wheel![]()
i have a red and black leather steering wheel from 4Blok on ebay for sale...any one interested for $300...NEVER USED! car was written off before i got the chance to install it...4Blok wants $330 plus postage
yeh prolly easier just to buy a wheel, even an SV6 wheel.
not only can you add the spoked but you also get the nice feel of leather! Best mod I ever did to the Acclaim was the HBD wheel first day I got it, although it was pricey. We threw an SV6 wheel at dads Adventra the day we got it too, so much better![]()
Super sixty-six has one for sale in the for sale section. Edit: it's a VY one.
'Ah well, I suppose it had to come to this.'
okay so i have done mine now. The way i did it was remove the airbag, cut the rubber spokes off and trim them to the edge of the wheel. On the back i trimmed leaving enough room for the studs of the back cover to still fit into the rubber securely. Like W45H1NGT0N said it is a bit of a fit and retry but it is only your time and effort not $$$ just take your time and think :-)
