Default VZ 3 button key - Remote Unlock Issues

    Hey all,

I have a 05' VZ SV6. The 3 button keyhead is not unlocking the car from any decent distance, It never really has since i bought the car a year ago. It will unlock from a distance of around 4-5 meters, however i have seen people with other VZ's unlock theirs from 20+ meters away; is this just a case of the remote head battery failing? or am i expecting too much.

    Cheers,

    Andrew

Go to Goodwood Locksmith located 210 Goodwood Rd, Millswood (entry off Arundel Ave) on the western (high side) of the subway. I have used them for ingnition key related work. They are probably the best in SA. They should be able to give you a straight answer.

you don't want to be able to open it from too far away just in case you lean on the button and don't realise you've unlocked it...

i have found with mine that if i have ANY other keys touching the car one, it won't work, even from 2m away...

I found with my SV6 that it opens further away from the front, but you have to be alot closer if your trying to unlock facing the boot.
