hi guys and girls i just recently got a check powertrain symbol and computer thing is this a good thing or bad thing can i still drive to work and stuff
depends. have you noticed anything changed in your car as it could indicate a major problem or something as small as low battery or blocked air intake etc. generally i think that if it its a problem then your engine will go into "limp mode" which means itll b under performing to protect the engine. find out and let us know any more info

i'd be tempted to think its an oxy sensor, I have the same issue although mine could be trans related as we've been fiddling with it, but oxys are common on Alloytecs and apparantly its a check powertrain warning that pops up.
Mine come on about 45 minutes into a drive and just warns me on start up.
I disconnected the battery for an hour and it went away. Drove an hour to work in the morning, got roughly 45 minutes into my drive home in the arvo and it come on again.
Its being checked out next week, so I'll let everyone know how mine goes but at the moment nothings changed on it - it still seems normal.
Mine did this not too long ago. It was the Vac hose just behind the TB, had to get holden to reset the alarm
I had the 'check powertrain' come up when I had a VZ SV6. A failed oxy sensor was the culprit.
my check power train came up when i had removed the air intake to install a cold air intake. just had to disconnect and reconnect the battery and it resetted it. if that doesnt work, then i would definetly get it checked out

I'll take a leaf out of bigdaddy's book and ask whether you've had the car tuned lately?
My car threw up the Powertrain fault a couple of times after I did my VCM, so that may also be a contributor
hi guys phoned holden and asked them the same question they said it will cost 130 to fix if it's minor problem found out it was the connection plug to the otr was not on,,, and now the computer has reconized it it's back to normal
yeh it seems to be a very generic warning, which is good because it does its job - makes you freak out!
If I had time I'd run tech 2 on mine and see what the story is, but I'll let someone else worry about that next week.
