alloytec oil leak

this might sound dumb but maybe someone has had this happen and can help

my car has an small oil leak on the lh side of the engine
it appears to be dripping off the A/C compressor at the rear between comp and block
there is no oil or spray on the front of the comp or forward of the sump plug
is this unusual and any tips as to what could be the issue

maybe a photo would help mate, im guessing it would be a gasket of some sort.

what colour is the oil, could be the compressore leaking oil
