    Default vz diff problem

    Could someone please help me

I have a 2005 VZ Commodore Executive with independent rear suspension.

Differential info plate reads ZFL65 UO 59091 1685
    R3.08-01 S/No 59091 92174638

I have a noise in the diff and I would like to know whether the ZFL65 indicates that it has a limited slip diff. The vehicle was bought second hand and I have no information whatsoever.

I would appreciate some feedback on my problem

    Many thanks - don f

Have you checked the fluid level/condition first? If not then check it and if it's low/bad then top it up or replace it. Being a VZ my money is on a LSD, but if you're looking for fluid then you can use LSD fluid in a normal diff, but you can't use normal fluid in an LSD diff.

It's a single spinner, not an LSD. Try changing the diff oil, if that doesn't help, take it to a diff specialist..

ZFL is the single peg 3.08 V6 auto diff.

What kind of noise are you hearing?

jack one back wheel up, put it in neutral, and try to turn it.
