hi torque performance at labrador did mine
then matt stocker at browns plains
i wouldnt go anymore than 3.27:1 for driveability,
i find getting 45km/h out of first gear @ 6700rpm get annoying, same as 95km/h in 2nd @ 6700rpm using 3.46's
if you dont like the take off, upgrade to a single mass flywheel and heavy duty clutch if you like to give it stick, otherwise even standard replacement with solid flywheel is a great improvement,
downside is gearbox chatter is a lil off putting at idle, anything over 1000rpm you dont here it unless you labor it hard under 1500rpm,
as it goes, if you want performace there is always a trade off

oh rito mate you planning on putting it in anytime soon if so tell me how it goes
I like mine just stock, i dont want to rev higher than i need to on the highway. just a waste of fuel.
plus, the alloytec is fine off the line for a v6, why change it?

Also, with a mod like that, you need to acknoledge the rear axles, that is where the most of the vehicle's torque is applied. If you go reducing ratios, you put even more torsional strain on the axles.
well pretty much im planning on putting 10 to 12 into the car i need a clutch so that will cost me about 2500 and just want to get it goin quick enough to pull away from most na sixes without chrgin it so that just why im asking these questions to try and figure out whats worth doing etc
the best way to pull away from the other 6's is to charge it or 3.9 ratios in the diff.2.87 would be terrible for takeoff i hate the 3.08 but my mate vz ssz has 3.7 in it dunno why they went to 2.87?
Life starts at 200km/h
ive got the daikin/exedy heavy duty in mine, works great, nice and streetable, better feel than the standard clutch, also comes with a new slave cylinder and spacers and bolts etc
would be worried at all, those cv shaft could take abuse with a v8 280rwkw car and not bust, they sort of start to fail around the 350rwkw up
3.9's would be all well and good if the aisin box didnt almost have a 4.5:1 gear ratio for first gear, using 3.9's would make first gear unusable,
