Hi all,
I have purchased a VZ 2007 wagon. it has 140k Km on the clock. all service history from new is in the service book. it is uptodate. the next service is due at 150k Km. I used to own a Vt 5.0 and serviced it every 5k km religiously. I notice the engine sump takes 6.5 ltrs of oil each service. if i did service every 5k im thinking im going to need 20lt containers of full synthetic oil to keep the same service rate up. any suggestions on what i should do to the engine or any other parts on the vehicle. i notice a tie rod end needs replacing. will get to that ASAP.
140000KM on the clock for a 3 year old car? Must've been driven everywhere.. haha
I would think to just get a thorough service of the car?
I think u need to check all filters and oils also the A/C gas and the sparks and the belt the brake pads also and the hand brake the list goes on and on man really really really god help you
hahaha thanks dude, every thing on the car works like new, i think it was mothered by a Fleet investor.
no oil leaks anywhere, i will do all the filters and oil tho. as i said before it has been serviced throughout its Km history. the spark plugs?? can i use iridium plugs on the ALLOYTEC motor?? and is there any tips on changing the plugs, im used to 3 foot of ignition lead on each cylinder. also whats the deal with the different coolant and engine oil appose to the earlier engines?? thanks for the input btw

its an alloytec not an ecotec. and yes you can use iridium plugs. you have individual coils for each plugs, you have to pull the intake off to get at the coils, then unbolt the bolt off the coil and pull it out...it will be abit stubborn but it will come off, then just a long extension down onto the plugs and you're half way there.
also i use semi-synthetic IMO it gives the VZ a nicer idle, mines got 150,000 kms on it
plus broken hill where its like 300 kays just to get to the next town for milk or bread![]()
make that 500 k's![]()
holdenvtman1123 u mentioned a tie rod end needs replacing well my car uses the rods like candy I changed them 3 times really eating up my cash also my friends said the same thing they always have a tie rod end problem guess they are a bit weak or something.
not sure but i think its the same part that goes way back. maybe there is extra pressure there on the tierod end. always replace both of them tho when u do and it may last a bit longer. my local spare shop has them for 29 bucks.
