    Default 205/65R/15 - tyres

    G'day all,

I have 3 good goodyears on my VZ wagon and one not so good (just above the marker) i think it was previous spare.

My current spare is a Bridgestone....would i be OK to put this with a good year on the rear axle of this car?

Safety is paramount as it is family car -

    thanks
    Paul

I have always been told that you must run your tyres in sets of two. So the left and right rear or left and right front must be the same for normal driving, spares dont matter cos you're not driving on it long.
Just go buy a retread mate, wont be much and it should last you until the others wear

It'll be ok, just make sure you get the new Tyre fairly quickly. Leaving the spare on over long periods of time is a no no.

    Btw , i wouldn't touch a retread.

True, if safety is paramount due to being a family car then please don't put retread on.
As for putting the said tyre on, how different are the tread patterns? Really if you're in doubt ask a tyre shop.

lol use the spare on the rear, dont go re-tread, its just the same thaing as he has just paying money to do it,

just have the odd tyres on the rear and itll be fine, untill the other 3 wear down than get 4 at once,

as long as you have the same on the front, the rear doesnt really matter so much,as said above, stay the hell away from a retread. better off just getting a good second hand tyre till the others wear down

Thanks for your input...apparently accodring tot he manual the spare is slightly different tryes to the ones on the car..in terms of the numbers on the sidewall.... will look at getting a 2nd hand one tomorrow just till the others wear down then will match them all again.....

    cheers
