VZ SS Gen 4 Oil Filter Location / Type ?

Can anyone please advise where the oil filter is located on the Gen 4 6.0 litre V8 & the model number as I want to do my own servicing. Any other advice would be appreciated also, it's the 120k service.

Can't help u on the part no but on my ls2 the filter is directly next to the sump . My hsv has a sump guard plate though so u hav to remove the plate to see the sump

Hmmmmm, never a good sign if you don't even know where the oil filter is and can't be bothered doing a 5 second search. I typed in 6.0lt engine on google and came up with a link instantly with picture.

Plus, if you want to service the car, why don't you just ring Holden and get the parts you need from there or a nearby auto shop if your not near a Holden dealer and they will be able to tell you in minutes what the part number is and whether they have stock and how much.....easy!

So my advice would be to do a little bit of searching on this forum as there are heaps of info already plus search the net like I did for info.
