    Default VZ SV6 Brakes squealing

Well after a spirited drive with a car group though the Jambaroo Pass yesterday my brakes have started to squeal. I know my brakes still had 50% of meat on them at the last service so im wanting to know what would be causing the noise?

build up of brake dust between pad and disc?

who knows. I'd start by washing them out when cold and watching the dust just pour out, then trying it again.

No they have never made the noise before, though i was pushing the car quite hard and a few cars on the day actually had their brakes catch on fire!! To answer your question it does it every time i brake with more then about 10-20% pressure on the brake. I think i will hose down the brakes and see if that fixes it.

the other thing is you might have melted the pad material a bit, which means you need to take it out to try and roughen up, or replace

Well i just took it for a drive after it had the whole night to cool down and it is no longer making any noise. I will have to wait and see if the squeal comes back. All that being said i have to say the SV6 surprised me with its handling, brakes and Auto trans as i was able to keep up with an Evo 8 MR though the windys
