I just followed the instructions from the link below and ordered the parts from Holden.
You will only need one switch for a Nokia car kit.
The cost of the car kit and parts from Holden was :
Nokia CK-1W car kit on EBay $80.00
Parts from Holden ( 1 x phone switch and cover $35.00.)
Total $115.00
A lot cheaper that $450.00 quoted from Holden for a genuine Bluetooth car kit.
Let me know if you want the parts numbers.
And here is that link on how to pull the centre console apart and install the switch.

Back in the hope things have settled down...
Hi Sammy,
Yes it may look busy but very functional, The switches are for the various warning lights fitted i.e. 2x rotating beacons, front "Wig-Wags", front grill flashers, roof mounted front facing light bar with 3 selectable light patterns, and rear facing small light bar.
The radio is the split system with the operating head mounted in front of the window switches.
The main phone is on the left with the cdma on the right.
All in all it works well.
Jim
Hi Thecrewmanbloke,
I am wanting to connect my Nokia car kit in my VY using the same phone button and surround. Could you give me the part numbers of the button and the new surround trim? I also plan to use the bulb that comes with the switch rather than replacing it with a LED. It will mean a little more wiring and a few electronic components but I want it to look the part at night.
Thanks
Here are the part numbers that you asked for:Originally Posted by assa73

The light bulb that comes in the switch is 12v. I changed it with a 3.4v super bright green led and it looks the same as the power windows switches at night.
Enjoy the installation let me know if you need anything else.

In actual fact....the correct placement for the microphones in the VY-VZ is right behind the rearview mirror. If you look behind there you will see a little notch cut out for the wire to run through. This place provides the ultimate placement for noise reduction and also allows the passenger to talk on the phone as well.
You put you left foot in, your put your right foot in , you take your left foot out and you slide it all about!
Good Thread. I read this as my introduction to the JustCommodores fora. I got the parts from my local Holden dealer and I have a Nokia CK-1W coming. When I have everything I will pull aprt my SV6 and have a go.
I got these parts so far
GM-92172331 Phone Switch
GM-92143075 Connector-Phone
GM-92141210 Terminal Phone
GM-92114020 Bezel,Hazard WR (has two openings, SV6 has T/C Switch)
I'll take some photos as I go and post the link here.

madOne,
When you go to install the bluetooth kit, you will find that the T/C swith has a plastic lug that requires it to be in the bottom L/H postion of the console.
Get a file and remove the lug so that you can move the T/C to the top left and the Bluetooth button in the top right.
I installed the Holden Bluetooth Kit for my Nokia Phone and it works great.
Let me know if you are after any other info on the install.
How did the install go? Ive got a carkit (not bluetooth, but the cradle one...cant remember the product code...genuine nokia one), and it has the little button that you can answer, hang up and do the voice tag thing with (see pic attached). i want to destroy the button from the kit and wire up a fixed holden button. I assume this is the same thing your doing?Originally Posted by madOne

I just had the Holden Bluetooth car kit installed by Holden. There is no mucking around with it, one button operation, radio is muted when activated and as soon as you turn the ignition on it activates the operation of the phone.Originally Posted by bern5
One of the best Blue tooth kits is a Parrot Evo it will work with most Phones it is available from Expansy among other places brand kits are usually only guaranteed to work with there own. Go for the Holden one.
I have to disagree there, I think the next model up is the one to get: the Parrot CK3100. You get an LCD display which gives you automatic phone book sychronisation with Caller ID etc. Something even the Holden one can't give you. Have a look at my post in the following thread Phone wiring for some pics, quite a neat install in my opinion.Originally Posted by chev52

If you are after a kit with an LCD display I'd highly recommend getting the Parrot CK3200LS. This is a later (and better looking)bluetooth kit than the Parrot CK3100 that has a colour screen. Easy to install, great features, and able to connect to lots of phones. Got mine from Cellular Spares for $275, works like a charm.

I have had the CK1W installed for a while. I never have got around to wiring the Holden button in. The sound qaulity on the call as often very dissapointing, with me and the person on the other end of the call hearing an echo. So I now have the CK3100. It is a more complicated kit with more wires than needed. Has anyone put one of the Parrot CK3100 or above kits in before and worked out what goes where?
VZ SV6 Turismo Mica
It really is quite simple. As you worked out you don't need all the wires and the mute relay cable (that big black plastic thing) that the CK3100 has as the Blaupunkt stereo in the Commodore has full carkit integration.Originally Posted by madOne
Look at this thread Mobile Phone Connector Details for the wiring connections in the Commodore and map it to the Parrot. The rest you don't need. The wires in the parrot should be labeled with tags.
Since I might want to remove the parrot at a later date I did not want to cut any wires so I tapped in the 12V permanent, 12V accessories and Ground from the parrot cable. It already has separate line-in and mute wires. I then connected the male and female ISO connectors together so that I can neatly bundle the wires together and wrap it all in electrical tape so that it does not get in the way.
Hope that helps,
Z
.... and one more thing, you can go to Phone Wiring where I have posted some pics of my CK3100 install.

The CK-1W doesn’t work well with non nokia smart phones (blackberry, O2 etc) the reason is the mic in the handset is going and the mic in the car kit is going at the same time!? the other drama is the mic being too close to the speaker (nokia recommends a min displacement of 1mtr) hope this helps some one out.
Now for my drama, I have a CK-1W in my 95 VR, when I use it with my Samsung E730 it some times crashes the phone? ive solved this with the mod below. all is does is hold the acc. line above 4v while im start`n the car (if the acc line falls below 4v the carkit sees the ignition as off) now it connects and disconnect like my MRS nokia handset![]()

Hi
I am installing a nokia CK-7 car ki. So far I have the wiring correct for the constant 12v, the ign 12 volt , the earth and the radio mute. I am left with 2 blue wires which from the messages below are the audio+ and audio-.
My delima is what do I need to do with thse two wires to have the car kit play through the radio speakers. The CK-7 box as a single jack connectoion for a seperate speaker. How do I take these two blue wires and connect them back to the single jack on the nokia unit.
You will need to buy a suitable plug from a place like jaycar and connect it to the blue wires. Its been a while since I saw one but I'm pretty sure those that originally bought the CK-7W usually included the speaker so all they did was cut the cable and gave the speaker back to the customer to throw away.
Z
Cut the speaker off and strip back the black and red wires and then join them up that way, that's all i did.
I might have asked this (I might not have either) but where has everyone been mounting the nokia module?
currently ive got it shoved in behind the radio cradle in that open area, surely theres somewhere more suitable because obviously it moves (and yes i'll admit its not secured to anything) where it is as when I hit the brakes hard it disconnects from the phone.

well I found a good spot quite by accident. Theres that rubber mat area between the gear stick and that fold down area thingo on a VY/VZ, well just in under there is a spot thats the perfect size for the Nokia module to sit! Theres a metal bracket under there.
I put some double sided tape on the module and taped it in place (had the center console out tho). Will upload a photo tomorrow for anyone thats interested

I have a CK7W Nokia bluetooth kit, I bought a Nokia Cradle to suit my phone, and that had an external aerial plug coming off it, just fed that through to the external aerial, and hey presto all done, phone still is connected via bluetooth, but I just throw it in the cradle to boost the signal. Cradle was the CR-56 if you wanted to google it.
