2005 HOLDEN COMMODORE SV6 VZ Private Cars For Sale in VIC - carsales.com.au
Im interested in buying this car as my first car since im turning 18 in a few weeks.
Tell me what you guys think, and if the price is good for the car itself??
Cheers
good price only 12,000k per year too good to be true be careful.
umm...it could very well be a good buy. My 05 VZ has done 50k in 3.5 yrs...approx. 14k per yr. So, 12k per year is not that far off![]()

looks good, nice low km. but looks liek the guy doesnt mind fiddling around with it so just check for dodgy mods...and promise if you buy it to take the chrome off!
Wow low KM's and looks real neat and tidy. Great price too. I would get the car looked over by a mechanic just to make sure everything is good then go for it!!!!
Chech out REDBOOK.
'Ah well, I suppose it had to come to this.'
1. This is not a popular colour so bear that in mind as you will need to sell it eventually and colour affects value. Personally I would never buy a commodore in that colour and, as there is plenty of choice in the model, most guys would not buy a car in that colour.
2. There has been some non-standard painting done on the car , ie the front grille and mesh guard. This may be just some paint detailing but check for more extensive re-painting that could be a result of accident repairs. If you find any sign of repairs reject the car. There are plenty of cars for sale that have not had accident repairs.
3. Make sure the wear on the vehicle is consistent with the KMs showing. This is where a professional inspection will help you as it will for identifying if there have been accident repairs carried out.
4. Check the service records for the car and make sure these are also consistent with the KMs. If the owner cannot produce the service records on a vehicle that is only one model old and with low KMs I would be very suspicious.
3. If after checking the car thoroughly yourself and you want to buy it, get a professional mechanical and body inspection carried out and do not put any money down until you have done this. Generally you can get this done on 24 hours notice and it's a few hundred dollars well spent. If the buyer tries to dissuade you from such an inspection - some will - walk away. Companies that do vehicle inspections in your State advertise online.
If it comes up a good car and you have also run checks to verify that there is no encumbrance(mortgage) over the vehicle by a finance or leasing or hire purchase or other company, you have checked that the vehicle numbers match the numbers on the rego papers and you have checked the owner's ID then you only need to worry about the price. There is plenty of information available on carsales.com.au for you to be able to assess what you should pay for a good VZ SV6 with those KMs assuming the KMs are genuine.
