3rd brake light when spoiler removal.

i was planning to remove the spoiler off my sv6 but wasnt sure if it needs a 3rd brake light.

what ive read is that its compulsary, if so how do i go about installing one in the rear window.

you need to get a brake light assembly...the connection is already wired it will be sitting under the parcel tray...however if the brake light part of the window is blacked out i think you will have to scratch it off with a razor blade.
yes it is compulsory to have three brake lights

Mine is still intact even though I have the spoiler light.
I tested it by fitting a globe and it works but it lights up my front side of the spoiler reflecting back towards the car which is probably why they removed the globe when they fitted the spoiler.
The spoiler is disconnected by a plug near the bootlid hinge, orange and brown wires I think from memory.

i have been pulled over twice with no spoiler only 2 tailights, its only illegal if u have 3 tailights and 1 doesnt work. MY local shop even said its roadworthy with 2. It is legal. By utes only have 2, as do many older cars, coverts etc.
