Hey fellas just wondering if someone can help me out,
I just did a service on my VZ executive. I started it up and it ran fine. Reversed it out and turned it off. I then tried to get rid of the service notification. Started it up and it started to feel like its miss firing/knocking or something its just not running well. when i rev it revs fine. but at idle its just not healthy. Its coming up with a powertrain fault
I did the K&N filter and thinking that the oil might be stuffing one of the sensors around but would this rough idle be making it do that ?
Anyone had a problem like this before?
similar problem had too be, just had to reset the computer. unplug your battery for 10 minutes then plug it back in.

Yep, had the same problem.
I changed the plugs and it came healthy again. Check your gaps and change if necessary. It also pays off to check the exhaust system for dents or kinks in the components. Bad flow of gasses can lead to a bad idle.
Cheers fella
Will check that out tomorrow.
i got a ex fleet wagon on gas. whenever i give it a bit of stick, i get the "check powertrain" on the dash display, and it shakes and misses as though i done a head gasket or arnt firing on all cylinders. pull over and turn off the car, then immediately start it again and it idles and drives perfect again as long as i dont go close to or floor it. the exhaust under the tranny is slightly bottomed out, but surely this couldnt be causing it? its got 115000km on it and im about to do a full service in the next week, cos if the fleet mechanic is goin by the log book he would change sparkys every 120000km.
anyone experienced this?
Yup. LPG is a LOT more demanding on ignition components than petrol is. Spark plugs won't last 2/3 as long as they would on petrol. 80,000km is already pushing it. Get the plugs replaced ASAP with Bosch double platinums gapped to 1.1mm and while you're at it, replace the oxygen sensors.

Nah, Bosch double platinums are less demanding on other ignition components as they wear and are BETTER than iridiums for LPG applications. As for coils, change them ONLY if you are having issues. Don't forget to use dielectric grease to ensure that you don't get any spark leak. The double platinums will also last LONGER than iridirums for LPG applications.

this happened to me and i thought it was the O2 sensors but it turned out to be a coil pack... best to check what the problem is before replacing the sensors as they dont exactly come cheap...
