i have heard stories of people putting turbochargers on the v6 alloytec 3.6L engine and destroying the engine, i havent heard of any successful ones so i was wondering what people on the forum thought? i am really interested in putting one in but only if it is safe towards my engine?

go a supercharger mate. betta off with that then a turbo.
Raptor do a supercharger for the Alloytech, theirs a few guys on here that have done just that.

will a supercharger be healthy for the engine though? or will it destroy its life span

I believe a centrifugal supercharger would put a fair amount less strain on an engine than a turbo. Reason because a supercharger will build boost up with the revs where as a turbo will just suddenly force the boost down when it hits the correct boost level. Would all come down to how it put together and the tune of course.

CBV are supplied in Raptor kits.
Are you meaning one of those venting BOV that make that gay noise. They are wank factor. Also illegal to do on a Commodore as all exhaust gases must go though a catalytic converter, big fines otherwise. Did I also mention that in most cases they sound gay.

Based off the previous thread you created, it sounds like the only reason you want a turbo car is for a BOV. If you want that, sell your car and get a XR6T, it will be cheaper.
but bov's dont vent exhaust... they vent filtered air before it enteres the engine... they are supposed to be plumbed back into the air intake... very easy fix...
if you get pulled over its as simple as "sorry officer the hose must have a hole in it... ill get that fixed right away"
i have 2 bov's and makes the woosh sound, i love it
but bov's dont vent exhaust..

Apparently some of the alloytec 190s internals are forged, so superchargers wouldnt be a problem. I assume the 175 would be similar. Im quoting some random who cammed his alloytec, so dont hold me to that
