Default Headers + Exhaust For a VZ.

    Greetings all.

Finally decided to get an exhaust system for my VZ v6, looking to go for a 2.5 inch bolt on exhaust and then a set of headers a bit later on down the track.

Been quoted $300 for a Lukey 2.5 cat back system, and $460 for a set of Pacemaker headers both prices are unfitted.

Would I need Hi-flow cat's or would the standard one's fit in-between the headers/exhaust, I'm not looking for an increase in power, just a better note.

    Cheer's.

i have an o5 vz sv6 i put a 2.5 single cat back on mine then got a set of genie headers and havn,t changed the cats ..it gives me a good note and more power and with a k@n filter it was dynod at 199 rwh on prem 95 i have been told to only change the cats if i was going to race it but even then it wouldn,t make that much differance

Decided against getting a set of headers and just went for the 2.5 Lukey bolt on system with a nice shiny stainless tip.

Ordered it this arvo, collecting it tomorrow, should be bolted on by weekends end.

Just went with the cat-back exhaust in the end, decided I didn't really need headers for it so I cannot tell you sorry.

Hey are you aware of which vehicles have which engine? Obviously you are not. If the persons ride description is a V6 VZ and its not a Calais or an SV6, then its a 175kw engine variant. Do a little bit of research mate. Knowledge is power and you have to work for it.

hey guys got the car booked in for a system to be hooked up, 2 1/4 twins to 2 1/2 twins. but i got a question. do you need to change the headers to get a descent note out of it and get the most out of it or not? and will geting a k&n air filter make it breathe better giving it a bit more up and go?

best exhaust ive heard is a 2 1/4 xforce cat back. loud but not to loud, and no loss in power.
