Looking for advice please.
I picked up some fencing wire around my prop shaft on the Newell highway and needed NRMA to remove it as my Leatherman wouldn't cut it loose. It was wound very tight and when it was removed the guy said I may get a leak around the shaft which was correct. 500 ml used between Forbes and Melbourne. The metal flange type thing is also damaged, this may just protect the seal but I am not sure.
Is it a straight forward job to fix this or is it a job for pro's?
Any help appreciated,
Cheers, Rick
Really rotten luck.
I have disassembled a few diffs and I definitely would not tackle this job yourself for many reasons but especially as the full scope of the damage might not be clear.
If it were my car I would take it to a reputable diff specialist that knows these commodores.
Best of luck with it.
