G'day guys (and girls),
Been asking around, no one seems able to give me a straight answer (not even the local Holden service department). What are the dimensions of the standard cat back exhaust of an VZ Sv6 (I know it's twin into 1), and what are the dimensions of the cat back system for the VZ SS (I think it's a dual), and further to this, are they interchangeable? i.e. can i put the twin pipe catback from an SS onto my Sv6?
Cheers!
I just love the way other motorists on the highway think it's an unmarked cop car.........
And Yes, it is a manual
yes it will fit
the SS system is twin is twin 2.25"
reduced to twin 2" after the center mufflers
To my knowledge the standard VZ SV6 cat-back exhaust is 2" in diameter and the VZ SS twin cat-back exhaust is 2.25 into 2" after the intermediate mufflers. Not to mention both cat-backs have a few crimps making the diameter even smaller than 2".. Yes both cat-backs are interchangeable with each other without any modifications.
Thanks for the help!

So.... just to double check.... an HSV cat back from a VY Clubsport should fit? Hava a chance to aquire one from a wreckers....

Go the HSV one as the SV6 and SS Holden systems both use reverse flow rear mufflers and dog leg with centre chamber for the centre mufflers where as the HSV system is straight through twin 2 1/4".
The reason the HSV isn't noisy like after market straight through system is that the rear muffler has the pipes twisting inside the muffler but still straight through (you can push a garden hose through it)

If your after sound, there will be only the slightest of differences. The HSV/SS catbacks arent too much different to the SV6 catbacks.. slightly higher flowing, which results in a more pistony type sound, but by no ones standards is it much louder then stock.
