i want to buy some parts for my car including, coils, o/2 sensors and sparkplugs mainly from ebay to save some $$$ prob is my engine num starts with LW2 and the built date says 12/2006 and on all the websites like bosch aust and ebay listings they all say part only suits LY7 or similar and up to 8/2006.
ive got a ex fleet exec wagon v6 on dual fuel. i have matched the numbers on the coils and they are the same as LY7 motors, the O/2 sensors are 5 wire on front and 4 wire on the back, 2 of each.
i really dont want to have to remove parts just to check numbers then order them and wait a few days for delivery, my missus(whos car it is) will have a fit.
i have a feeling they will be the same as LY7 just need some confirmation. cheers
Sorry if I'm miss reading your post. It is not the start of the actual engine number.
The engine type is stamped on a compliance plate under the bonnet at the front passenger side of the car e.g. ENG LY7.
I just bought a Bosch coil set, Bosch Platin plugs & both front Walker O2 sensors (5 wire) for $557 (incl postage). Going to stick them in at the 105,000 service. Basically half the price direct from Holden.
I've been told not to bother about doing the rear O2 sensors as it is the front ones that affect fuel economy.
PM me if you want the sellers contact details.
Cheapest is not always best. A lot of auto parts are being dumped in Australia from China. In many cases the quality and reliability are so bad that it is just absolute rubbish. Your money, your car, your choice.
True but genuine Bosch coils & plugs (in GMH box) with correct part numbers & a 12 month guarantee with Walker O2 sensors imported from the States can't be too far off the mark.
just checked the plate behind the passenger headlight it says ENG: LW2, TRANS: M30, BUILT DEC 2006 ......... its ex government fleet car on dual fuel.
PM sent as requested. Just tell him what you've got.
